dark knight review

finally saw "dark knight" and liked it very much. though i did not think it was the best movie i've ever seen, it was definitely worth $9. it's a great ride and there's actually quite a few layers of spiritual depth. . .

there's the obvious good vs. evil them i.e. batman vs. the joker. but beyond that it is the theme of human depravity and the sinister nature of our own self-preservation/selfishness.

the director and screenwriter christopher nolan seems particularly interested in this theme and is a brilliant creative who has written and directed other hollywood gems with similar characteristics . . . memento (2002), the prestige (2006), and the first batman: batman begins (2005). he is currently working on a new film called "the keys to the street".
