such is the title of the cover article in rolling stone magazine for june 2006 interviewing chris martin, lead singer for coldplay. and after reading the article, i still can't figure out why the interviewer titled the article this way. martin does talk a lot about his early years in the church of England, which he walked away from, and he makes a reference to bob dylan's gospel songwriting, but the title is still a mystery to me. check out the full cover story here.

Chris Martin was beat up as a kid and feels like the underdog because his wife once dated Brad Pitt. He feels like he's always got to prove himself.
But he's the "Jesus of the Uncool" because he was once uncool and look at him now, he gives the "uncool" hope for their future.
Get it?
ah, it makes sense to me now. he's the ringleader of uncool people. that's encouraging. so he's a super-nerd?
