TED is arguably the world's greatest platform for the exchange of ideas. every year speaker's in genres ranging from rock music, to socioeconomic theory share their ideas and some of the most brilliant minds in the world let us regular folks in on their brains for a 15 min. talk. the REALLY cool news is that those talks are now available online...for free!
check it out for yourself. one of my favorite authors, seth godin, shared his ideas in feb. 2009 about how to start a movement. it was fascinating, and confirmed so much of what is happening here every weekend at
the crossing. his main idea was that people want 1) to be challenged to change the world for the greater good, that they want 2) to be apart of something bigger than themselves, and that they want 3) a leader to commit to them, and whom they can commit to.
his final words "i challenge you to start a movement..."
so, if you could change one thing about our world, what would it be? and what is it that's stopping you from getting a movement going to make that change?
