the killers - human

i've liked 'the killers' from their first two discs which had 'mr. brightside' and 'when you were young' on them. these videos are fascinating in themselves, and begin to put picture to the lyrics within the songs, and you'll notice definite spiritual undertones mixed with fantastic story-telling creativity. their newest single 'human'--which they recently performed at the european music awards--is one layer deeper. check the chorus "my hands are cold, and i'm on my knees looking for the answer..."  this band also has ties with coldplay, u2, and robbie williams who all quote the killer's lyrics i.e. 'i've got soul, but i'm not a soldier' within their own songs.  it's as if their is a new awakening going on within the rock n' roll scene to something bigger, something powerful without being power hungry, something spiritual without being religious and/or controlling . . .

interestingly at the end of this EMA performance, brandon flowers adds even another layer to his own song when he sings these lyrics towards the end in front of millions. "bring on the new messiah, wherever he may roam. . ." hmm...
