Falling Slowly - a profound thought about marriage

this week at the crossing we're finishing up our look at some of the most romantic and often downright steamy words in the scriptures i.e. song of solomon. we're in the eighth chapter which talks about the commitment it takes to make a relationship last. this chapter contains one of my favorite scriptures in all the bible. it has been a benchmark for my own commitment to God, and one day, i hope with my wife:

Place me like a seal over your heart,
like a seal on your arm;
for love is as strong as death,
its jealousy unyielding as the grave.
It burns like blazing fire,
like a mighty flame.

my friend amy sent me this e-mail, after watching the movie 'once' which i cannot recommend more highly (sorry to be redundant). i asked if i could share some of her thoughts with you. she said yes. coincidentally, a beautiful spiritual community in LA, mosaic, also did a dance piece to one of the songs from 'once' . . . falling slowly, this past weekend.
