cemeteries of london

this past weekend our amazing student ministry played 'cemeteries of london' by coldplay . . . a rather dark tune that uses imagery involving witches, ghosts and the walking dead. and it might seem for a moment that a church would avoid such a song--though if you've been at the crossing you already know we love the intersection of culture and reality. besides, the lyrics within this song are the dark images of our current cultural landscape. we are inundated with movies, television, and even advertisements that sensationalize demons, murderers, supernatural spirits . . . images of death. so why would a spiritual community engage with such bleak realities? read more here
