last weekend my dad brought home the finished product from our guitar-making excursion to indiana, and these guitars are beautiful. of course, my dad's is way nicer, but then again, he's had a little bit more experience with woodworking :-)
the last week, the whole experience of playing a guitar i made with my own hands has been surreal. i cannot explain how meaningful it is everytime i pick the guitar up. i'm amazed on so many levels, it's overwhelming. i got to build a guitar with my father and whenever i pick it up i think about how incredibly lucky i am to have a dad like mine. he is generous to a fault, sincere, wise, funnier than snuggies commercials, and kind--to everyone. he is a gentleman in the truest sense of the word, and there's very few people on earth left like him.
he reflects Christ in so many ways. i only hope i am half the man he is. and though he doesn't read blogs, and will probably never know this one exists, this thanksgiving, i'm eternally thankful for my dad.
