Investors Beware

are you watching your investments these days? each week the dow is like bungee rope tied to our emotions falling drastically only to rise again...only if we're tied to the dow, like a bungee jump, eventually the ups and downs level out and swing us helplessly upside down--without all the fun of the bouncing back up. i'm being rather candid these days, not because i want to be mr. negative, but because the times are calling for us to be decisive about how we will navigate our futures. which means we need to be realistic about where we are putting our trust (and by extension, our money). don't just take my word for it, listen to trading professionals who are preparing for recession...again.

"Governments don't rule the world, Goldman Sachs rules the world."
"the european market will crash..."

so what? what can we do? first, listen to the candor of wise men and women around you. learn about where your money is invested without blindly trusting that your retirement is secure. make sure you understand what markets your money is in. make sure you are diversified enough so that your money isn't all in one stock or solely in a mutual fund. btw, all of what i just said to you is not my own word but the words of investment strategists and traders like the one here who went even further on live television.

but more importantly, pray. these are times that require great care and discernment. none of us controls the future and none of us can be it's predictor. we need to return to the basics: we are not God and we need Him to walk with us in every season. though we have wandered, He is faithful to forgive us and willing to guide us into truth.

question: when's the last time you spent intentional time alone with God in prayer?
