Resurrection
just saw this video from Rob Bell. he's a great pastor/speaker/creative that i like to read/watch and learn from. for those not accustomed to his style--don't be off put. he's very odd in ways because he has a unique way of communicating.
what i like about this video is the same thing i don't like about this video. it's a little cheesy...i'm not talking about the content. i actually agree with what he is saying, it's just presented in a way that is very, well, 'charlie and the chocolate factory' circa tim burton, 2005.
BUT, that's also why i love this video. have i grown so cynical--so in love with my own judgements of things--that i've missed the vibrance of life? what if i would let go of my preferences once in a while and just receive the simplicity and creativity of the gospel--the good news--life wins over death, God's love conquers all, and we can come alive in Jesus. that's a pretty colorful message in itself, and one that gets labeled 'cheesy' all the time because it's so contrary to what we often experience in our daily lives.
what i know is that i know Jesus lives, and that is enough for me to keep my eyes open and my heart pure--as i wait for my own resurrection.
