as i began driving home from purchasing my 1996 nissan altima, it did not take long for me to realize that i had made an erroneous decision. i'm not sure what was awakened first, whether it was my olfactory nerves or my auditory senses, but as i drove back over the alton bridge, i heard and smelled a most unpleasant offense. you see, i soon discovered that the car i had purchased was an old smoker's car, and the son from whom i purchased the vehicle was fond of 'fart cans.' yes, you heard me correctly. the car stunk of a sour combination of no-longer-masked-air-freshener blended with years old heavy-smoke-infiltrated-air-vents AND on the highway--which i was now driving upon--sounded like a stock car at the indy 500, minus the joy of driving accelerated speeds (the car had an aftermarket muffler on it designed to be excessively loud, like a race-car...minus the speed, as i discovered the car begins to shake at 65mph). the short of it, i'd purchased a car in haste and failed to do the requisite investigation necessary to discern the cars minor flaws...har har.
immediately my throat closed up, partially from the sense that i had been bamboozled (and/or made an unwise decision which i would now have to live with), and mostly from my bodies allergic reaction to the smell of moldy cigarette smoke being blown on me through the vent.
i was bummed...to say the least.
so has begun a new journey in which i am learning the art of cleaning the air i find myself within. so much could be said about this new undertaking, but that'll be a story for another day.

Oooh! An adventure! There's just no better way to describe the journey of "cleaning the air" (both literally and figuratively) in our lives. As for the new used car...I proudly(?) proclaim that I can top your mileage. 230,000 for my '97 Mazda Protege, and still breaking it in. :)
