marriage reflections

it's hard for us to believe but in about 10 days we will have been married for two months. the journey so far has been filled with a ton of love, and bridgette and i are growing everyday. i'm actually more in love with her today than i was yesterday, though i don't know how that's possible. i would have said my heart was as big as it could get after our wedding, but everyday it stretches a little more now. marriage is hard work but it's fun work, and after every stress there is a strengthening. i really did 'marry up'--as they say--and sometimes i can hardly believe this is my life because it is better than i ever imagined possible. the crazy thing is that God is holding us up a day at a time, even as we continue the job search for bridgette, somehow we're staying afloat with hope, faith and love.

i never know who reads this blog, but i'm glad there is anyone out there who finds the words of my heart meaningful. i pray for you, that you may be filled with God's love and to know this love that surpasses understanding.

May You be our Shepherd, Lord Jesus, so that we never want for distracting things.

Yet when we need, make us lie down in green pastures;

lead us beside still waters so that You can restore our souls.

Guide us in Your paths of righteousness so that we honor and magnify Your Name.

Then, even when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

we will not fear evil, for we will know You are with us.

We will be confident of Your rod and staff to comfort us.

Prepare before us a table of grace in the presence of our enemies.

At those times, anoint our heads with the oil of faith

so that our cups overflow with love and blessing for all.

Surely, surely Your merciful goodness and loving care

will follow us all the days of our lives.

Just as surely, Lord Jesus, we will dwell in the house of Your Father and ours forever.
